Full Text

Hoosier.—The Greenburg (Indiana) Repository contains the following letter from a gentleman, who had been nominated to serve in the State Legislature. It carries with it the strong evidence of its sincerity:

Mr. Bolor—Please publish the following: I understand though I could stand a poll for State Representative five, but I have more fully discovered my inability to discharge the duties of the office than I ever did before, and as I am now of opinion that I cannot discharge the duties appertaining to the office with honor to myself and constituents, I feel it my duty to stand aside, and am only sorry that I agreed (against my own consent) to receive the nomination. I am under obligations to my friends for their kind assurances of success, had I continued to run, my prospects were truly flattering; but the more flattering, the worse my feelings. I hope my friends will excuse me.

JAMES SAUNDERS.
