JESSIE LAKE

Mr. and Mrs. Larson, managers of the Lake Park children's home were in Jessie Lake Monday. They brought with them the two daughters of Mrs. Gallinger.

Mrs. Emma Lind and daughter, Myrtle, went to Grand Rapids Monday where the latter with Miss Peterson, county nurse, went to Phalen Park, St. Paul.

Mrs. Otto Lee and daughter, Lila and grandson of Duluth, returned Monday from an extended stay in Duluth.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrie Montgomery and two children and the latter's sister, Mrs. Larson and brother, Otto, of Langford, N. Dak., arrived Monday to spend a week at the A. U. Widlund home.

Fred Knowles of Spring Lake transacted business here Tuesday afternoon.

Evangelistic services were held on Tuesday evening in the Norwegian Lutheran church.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Westerlund Wednesday morning.

Elmer Alzen transacted business in Deer River Wednesday.

Mrs. Viggo Sorenson arrived from New York Wednesday afternoon.

Louis Bergstrom and daughters, Signe and Elvie, motored to Grand Rapids Wednesday where the latter two left for Minneapolis and Phalen Park, St. Paul respectively.

Mr. and Mrs. Axel Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson left Thursday forenoon for Garfield to spend the week-end.

Peter Sjolund and Helen Sjolund of Superior arrived Thursday to spend the Fourth with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Nels Osberg and children and Mr. and Mrs. L. Johnson arrived here Thursday from Minneapolis to spend the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. John Hagsten.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearson and Mrs. Anna Alzen and Mr. Bengson of Duluth arrived here Thursday evening to visit friends and relatives.

Sid Strotman and Mr. and Mrs. George Hill and daughter, Irene of Cloquet arrived here Friday to spend the week-end at the H. J. DeWitt home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Prestidge and children and Verna Huntosh motored to Grand Rapids Friday to spend the day with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Edwardson of Mizpah spent Friday at the Oscar Lindgren home.

Miss Thora Edwardson, who has been a guest of her sister, Mrs. Oscar Lindgren, returned to her home in Mizpah Friday evening.

Miss Lulu Potwin of Cass Lake is a guest of her aunts, Mrs. Carl and Mrs. T. W. Ingstad.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dowling and children and Adolph Lindgren spent the 4th in Deer River. Others from here were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ingstad and children and Mr. and Mrs. Thos. W. Ingstad, H. J. DeWitt and children, Carl Lindgren, Eddie, Art and Al Ingstad.

Mr. and Mrs. Nels Osberg and children and Mr. and Mrs. L. Johnson returned Saturday to their homes in Minneapolis, having been guests of their cousin, Mrs. John Hagsten and family.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jorgenson Saturday morning.

Rev. A. D. Grant arrived here Saturday and held services in the Baptist church Sunday forenoon and evening.

The following families had their picnic dinner at the park Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Erick Martenson, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Alzen, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Alzen, Mrs. Anna Alzen and Mr. Bengson.

Members of the Luther League of the Norwegian Lutheran church, who went to Bigfork Sunday afternoon to attend a Luther League program at that place were Mr. and Mrs. Thos. W. Ingstad and daughter, Lois, and niece, Lulu Potwin of Cass Lake, Annie Dowling, Cora Cleveland, Hazel Bendix and Lawrence Bendix, Bernard Ingstad, Lila and Edna Lee, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Cleveland, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cleveland, Mr. and Mrs. B. Cleveland and Lillian and Helen Nelson and Myrtle Johnson.

Rev. Pool of the Northern Bible society of Duluth held services in the Swedish Lutheran church Sunday forenoon.

A wiener and marshmallow roast was held Sunday evening at the Lee Allen place.

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson returned on Sunday evening from Garfield and Minneapolis.
