TO STRAIGHTEN STAVE SILO

Sometimes May Be Done by Putting Ropes Around and Pulling With Fence Stretchers.

Sometimes when the stave silo leans over without being twisted, it is possible to straighten it up by putting ropes around it and pulling on them with powerful fence stretchers or with a block and tackle. Where it is twisted also the ropes should be so fastened that they will tend to overcome the twist. In general, however, it will be found more satisfactory to take the silo down and rebuild it, replacing the staves that are splintered or too badly twisted.
