GEN. CROOK'S COMMAND.

St. Louis, April 24.--Advices from New Mexico say Gen. Crook broke camp at Wilcox, yesterday, a. m. and started for Guadaloupe Canyon with 300 troops, two hundred Indian scouts, 21 wagons. In a talk with Crook--Indian scouts told the General they wanted him to lead them against the Chiricahua Apaches until all were exterminated or captured, as they could not hope for peace on the reservation themselves until that was done. The expedition was admirably appointed, and supplied for ninety days. On arrival at Guadaloupe canyon, Capt. Crawford and Lieut. Gatewood commanding scouts with company troops under picked officers, will penetrate fastnesses in the Sierra Madre mountains, and remainder of the command will be posted along the boundary. Capt. Daugherty has been ordered to join the command at Fort Apache to guard against anticipated trouble with White mountain Apaches.
