'Truly American' Town
Editor, The Citizen:
One day last week my wife and I took a drive over to Yellow Springs, O.--a beautiful little town located between Xenia and Springfield. We stopped and had dinner at the Antioch Tea Room and took a look at the sights around town.
We also viewed the many interesting features of Antioch College.
It was our first visit to Yellow Springs, but we were impressed. People of all races and colors, of all political parties, of all faiths live there in peace and harmony. It is truly an American town. There were no race riots because light people and dark people ate together, worked together, lived together and played together. At least we didn't witness any tension while we were there.
We understand all children go to the same schools in Yellow Springs and light teachers and dark teachers instruct classes in these schools. We understand that light people and dark people swim in the same swimming pool in Yellow Springs. We understand that light people and dark people live together under the same roofs in Yellow Springs. We understand that light people and dark people enjoy the same employment opportunities in Yellow Springs. We understand that light people and dark people are buried in the same graveyards in Yellow Springs--together under the free earth of America.
