Full Text

Navy Island. A company of wood-cutters is now
busily engaged in clearing Navy Island of its
timber. This is done, we presume, in order to
prevent the trouble which might arise from its fuel
being a base for an insurgent force.

It stands as one of the most beautiful in the
harbor, and will make a delightful farm, being
stripped of trees, soil of great fertility, and commanding
a view not equaled in grandeur by any in the
harbor, covers an area of about 300 acres.
It could have been purchased of the British
government for a mere song, but now,
it could not be bought at any price. -Buf-
