Surgical Operation.—A communication in the Winchester (Va.) Republican, states, that a surgical operation was lately performed in Gerardstown, Berkeley county, Va. by Dr. Carroll N. Magill, upon two men, one aged 28, the other 25, having Hare Lips.—A piece of flesh was taken from the cheek to form the lip, and in three weeks they perfectly recovered, so that no person, without strict scrutiny, would be able to tell that there had been any vacancy in the lip of either. Their utterance, which was formerly indistinct is now perfectly plain.
