NEW-PORT, Sept. 5.

Yesterday an Express arrived at Providence from Plainfield, to inquire into the Account of the Powder's being stolen by Gage's Orders, informing that there were near Ten Thousand Men in Arms, in that Part of the Country, ready to march to Boston, if needed.

About 10 o'Clock last Night an Express arrived in this Town, for Commissions for a Number of Military Officers in the western Parts of this Colony, and informs, that Col. Putnam had marched from Connecticut, for Cambridge, with 1500 Men, and that Col. Saltonstall was to march this Day with another Body, and that all the Country were prodigiously enraged, they having been informed that a Party of Soldiers had marched to Framingham, to seize the Powder in that Town, and had killed 6 of the Inhabitants outright.
