The committee of the whole reported the bill for the relief of Richard Taylor, after considerable discussion, on motion of Mr. Goldsborough, the bill was laid on the table. -On motion of Mr. Poindexter the house went into committee of the whole on the bill relating to grants of lands made in the Mississippi territory, by the British government of West Florida, Mr. Milnor in the chair. The committee went thro' the bill and reported it to the house. It was taken up, and after a long debate, was laid on the table for further consideration. On motion of Mr. Lewis, the bill to incorporate the Episcopal Society of Alexandria, was taken up. It underwent considerable discussion--Mr. Montgomery moved to postpone it indefinitely ; question lost. Mr. Quincy moved to postpone until Wednesday next. This motion was withdrawn, and the bill passed to a third reading.
Adjourned until Monday.
