MADE THEM MOVE ON.—Lieutenant Smith and a squad of police were at the Midland depot this morning when an excursion train from Charlottesville reached this city, and, under orders from Dr. Miller, the Health Officer, forbade the passengers from landing here for the reason that smallpox has broken out in Charlottesville. The train a few minutes later passed on through to Washington. The officers boarded the train before it came to a stop and one was stationed at each door of the cars. When the excursionists (the majority of whom were colored) saw they could not land here, they said they would go to Washington and come back on the local trains. They were warned not to do so. The officers remained on the train until it got beyond the city's limits.
