The Right of Suffrage.—On the 28th ult., the Convention to form a Constitution for the State of Michigan, established the qualifications of voters at all elections to be held in the New State. The right of suffrage is extended to all white male inhabitants above the age of twenty one years, who have resided two years in the United States, and six months in that State. Inhabitants not naturalized, and not now residents in the State, are required to renounce their allegiance to any foreign State, and to declare their intention to become citizens before they can vote. But all inhabitants above the age of twenty one, who resided in Michigan on the 4th of April last, are always hereafter entitled to vote at all elections.
