HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
FEB. 12.
THE Rev. Joseph M'Kean, of Beverly, was chosen to deliver the Election Sermon, in May next.
A bill for giving a remedy against Executors and Administrators of deceased debtors, in joint contracts, was read a second time.
The additional Supreme Judicial Court bill was again debated, and committed to Messrs. Wilde, Skinner, Porter, Leonard and Titcomb.
The additional Contagious Sickness Bill, and the Ninth Turnpike Road Bill, passed to be engrossed.
FEB. 14.
A bill in addition to the Law for the instruction of youth, and for the promotion of good education; was read a first time.
FEB. 18.
A bill to encourage the manufacture of leather boots, half boots, pumps, sandals, slippers, and glove shoes; and to prevent frauds therein; passed to be engrossed.
A committee on the sale of Eastern lands, was raised.
Bills incorporating certain plantations in the District of Maine, into towns by the names of Orland, Ellsworth, and Rumford, have passed various stages.
FEB. 19.
A new militia bill was bro't down from the Senate, read, and tomorrow 11 o'clock appointed for the second reading.
The new annual Tax bill passed to be enacted.
A bill to regulate the manufacture of Nails within this Commonwealth, and repeal all laws heretofore made, was read, and tomorrow 11 o'clock appointed for the second reading.
