Petroleum in Humboldt.--The people of Humboldt county are going crazy on the oil question. Companies are being organized weekly, as shown by the Times. On the 30th ult. the "Oil Creek Petroleum Company" was incorporated, with a capital of $500,000, and with Chas. W. Long, L. C. Schmidt, John Keleher, Jonathan Clark and S. G. Whipple as Trustees. The Times contains the rules and regulations of the following lately established Oil Mining Districts: Upper Mattole, Bear River, Shelter Cove, Pennsylvania and Humboldt Butte. There is no longer a doubt that oil exists in large quantities in our neighbor county, and we are glad to hear it. Quite a number of Trinity people have secured interests.
