Willie B. Hale, 710 Oak Lake No., gave his final recital in the Twin Cities Sunday, October 21 at Zion Baptist church, before leaving for Chicago, where he will further his education.
Mr. Hale was presented with a purse and a leather brief case by the Zion pastor, Rev H W. Botts.
His program consisted of several numbers, among them were "The Voice in the Wilderness", "He Knows How Much We Can Bear", and "Today". He was accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy Simms for all three numbers. Mr. Ralph C. Primm rendered an instrumental solo.
Mr. Hale's three spiritual numbers were "I'm So Glad", "Trouble Don't Last Always", and "Nobody Knows De Trouble I've Seen". Other selections were, "The Lord Will Provide", "Try Jesus, He Satisfies", and "Christ Is All."
Mr Primm, Mrs. Velma Williams and Mrs Carey Williams, who accompanied Mr Hale in other concerts, also accompanied him Sunday.
Following the program, a reception was held in the basement of the church in honor of Mr. Hale.
