BANGOR, Me., Feb. 23.—An accident occurred this morning at Boyd's station, on the European and North American railway, caused by an engine attached to a passenger train toppling over while crossing a switch. The baggage, mail and parlor cars were burned and several people injured, one it is thought fatally. The telegraph wires are down and it is difficult to get definite statements of the casualty. The railroad people admit that a bad accident has occurred, and General Manager Tucker has gone to the scene of the accident in a special car.
It is now said that D. Mudgett and John Campbell, railway postal clerks and Harry Goodman, fireman, were killed and burned in the wreck. The engineer was seriously injured. No passengers are reported injured up to this time. The wrecking trains and physicians are on the way to the scene.
