A man, who said he was born in Scotland, went into the Police Office on Saturday, while the Justices were at dinner, and seated himself in one of the constable's boxes. He stated to the officer in attendance, that he wanted to be taken care of; that he had acquired such habits of drunkenness, that he was incapable of taking care of himself. The officer told him he must request some other person to make a complaint against him, and if the charge could be substantiated, he could be sent to the house of correction. There is evidence enough of the fact before your face, said the man. When the court came in, a complaint was made out and he was sent to the house of correction for one month.
