Letters from Bastia, by the Way of Leghorn, say, that Count de Boisfleux has communicated to the Corsican Malecontents, the Preliminary Articles of Accommodation which he received from his Court; but that it is not yet known what Answer they have made to the French General.

London, Nov. 28. Our Letters from Genoa of the 12th Inst. say, that they expect, in a short Time, to hear what they have to depend upon, in relation to the Affair of Corsica; for according to Advices from Bastia, Count de Boisfleux, the French General there, has receiv'd the Articles of Accommodation, which the King has been pleas'd to make between the Republick and the Malecontents, and is actually getting them translated; after which he designs to go to Corte, at the Head of a Detachment, in order to publish those Articles, and receive the Arms of the Corsicans. A great many People are of Opinion, that this last Circumstance will meet with some Difficulty, those Islanders having always shew'd themselves very averse to it.

Those Advices add, that a few Days before, a Corsican Friar, who is a Provincial of the Order of St. Francis, was taken up and sent to the Tower of Bastia, for preaching in favour of Baron Neuhoff, in order to seduce well-meaning People.

We hear from Naples, that the Captain of the Dutch Ship, on board of which Baron Neuhoff embarked, has been put under Arrest in that City, for refusing to sail to Corsica, according to his Agreement with the Baron. They add, that two Passengers in that Ship went ashore privately, and having taken Post-Horses, immediately rid away to Rome, so that they could not yet discover who they were; but they judge them to be the Baron and his Nephew.
