SUMMARY.

Store Breaking.-On Thursday morning last, about one o'clock, two persons were detected in Mr. Edward Mason's Dry Goods Store, in this village. They had pocketed five or six dollars taken from the drawer, and had bundled up, ready for transportation, about $600 worth of goods. But when they were nearly ready for a departure, they were seized by the inhabitants, when one of them, a negro, had the dexterity to slip himself from their grasp and flee, leaving his cloak in their hands. The other, a white man by the name of Jonathan H. Perkins, was secured. The negro, whose name was Thomas Francis, was, the same day arrested in Providence, together with four others--people of color. All six are now in confinement. Those who were taken in Providence were found at a house in Olney's Lane, called the farm. On discovering a chest, it was forced open, and a quantity of dry goods to the value of nearly $200, were found therein and identified as the property of Arnold Remington, from whose store in Pawtuxet, they were stolen some weeks since.
