WILLIAMSBURG, October 12.

We hear from the upper Parts of the Country, that the heavy Rains which fell there about a Fortnight ago, have occasioned the greatest Freshes known for many Years, by which very considerable Damage has been done to the Land contiguous to the Rivers. — The Water rose in many Places, near Thirty Feet perpendicular, carrying away all the Bridges, and many Houses.---Several Gentlemen have suffer'd very considerably by the Loss of their Tobacco Houses, and other Damage to their Plantations.
