After a fatiguing journey through the woods with minimal food, three encountered a Seneca Indian who brought them to Little Niagara on the 8th of August and informed Capt. Brown. Capt. Brown gave the Indian a considerable present. The fourth sailor is supposed to have perished in the woods. The Indians promised Capt. Brown to apprehend all deserters they meet.
