York and Havre packets, to the house of Mo-
nod and Brothers, merchants at Havre, who
will send them to Montauban and Geneva.
By this arrangement there will be, therefore,
no difficulty in time to come in transmitting
the donations of our writers to the institutions
named above. And as there is a strong de-
sire to obtain them, on the part of the profes-
sors of both these important seminaries, I
cannot but indulge the hope that this simple
and very respectful request will be complied
with. There are few authors amongst us who
cannot afford to present two copies of their
works. And when it is considered that they
are asked not for individual possession, but for
the libraries and institutions where many young
men are now receiving their training for the
work of the ministry, and all of whose pro-
fessors read English, if they do not speak it,
I cannot but indulge the hope that this request
will be very generally complied with.
May I not ask that the editors of all the reli-
gious papers in our country will have the good-
ness to publish this notice, and thus confer a
favor, not on me, but on the excellent men
who have chosen me for their organ ?
