TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Two Florida A and M College ROTC Cadet officers were recently commissioned second lieutenants in the Regular Army of the United States.
However, their commissions are dependent on the cadets graduating from college and a physical examination.
Cadet Lt. Col. James Ward of 524 West St. Augustine Street, Tallahassee, and Cadet Major Charles Walden of 200 Dorsett Avenue, Lake Wales, are the two applicants out of 12 from here who were selected by Major C. Davenport, professor of Military Science and Tactics.
Their commissions were nominated by the Department of the Army and confirmed by the Senate and will go into effect June 15, 1950.
Cadet Major Walden will receive his commission on graduation in 1951. They were selected on the basis of outstanding qualities of military leadership, high moral character, a definite aptitude for military service, and distinguished academic and campus activities.
