TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR

New Factor In Illinois Political Life Has Backing of No Machine Or Clique.

Chicago, Sept. 3—In making an announcement of his candidacy for governor of Illinois, John M. Glenn, Secretary of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association, tonight attacked the present executive for having failed to prosecute the officers in the so-called labor wars in the state.

"I have no political combination, financial trust or union labor monopoly behind me" he said. "My success will depend entirely on whether or not the people are interested."
