PROCLAMATION EXPECTED.
Government to Take Over Watershed Lands Owned by City.
A proclamation from the president setting aside all the watershed lands in the canyons now owned by the city as a part of the national forest reserve is expected in a few weeks.
Some time ago the city made an offer to give up this land provided the government would take it over and patrol it. Mayor Bransford yesterday received a letter from Overton W. Price, associate forester at Washington, stating that the department with which he is connected will be glad to co-operate with the city in keeping these lands in proper condition, and that it is probable that some action will be taken immediately.
"The service," says Mr. Price, "is very anxious to co-operate with the people of Utah in protecting and improving the watersheds and the preservation of our forests."
