Jewelry Committee Urges
Forty Cent Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON, D. C.-The Jewelry Manufacturing Industry Committee unanimously recommended a 40-cent minimum wage for the jewelry industry. If approved by Administrator Fleming of the Wage and Hour Division the recommendation will increase the wage rate of approximately 11,500 employees in the industry.

The employees section of the committee included General President Leon Williams, First Vice-President A. J. Gaul, and Vice-President Erwin Spiegal, of the International Jewelry Workers Union (AFL).
