Boys' Band To Be Entertained
in Pittsburgh Saturday
The Gilbert-Brown Boys' Band will
leave Oakland Saturday morning at
6 o'clock in a special bus of the West
Penn company, for Pittsburgh, Pa.,
where they will be entertained in various
ways there and will broadcast
over station WWSW from 1:30 to 2
p. m.
As soon as the bus arrives the
members of the band will register at
the Chamber of Commerce building,
and a reception will follow at the
city-county building at 11 o'clock. For
lunch they will be guests of Mc-
Creery and Company, a department
store, and from 1:30 to 2 will broadcast
from the McCreery dining room,
over station WWSW, 1,500 kilocycles,
or 0 on the radio dial.
Following the broadcast they will
be guests of Joseph Horne company
at the Carnegie Tech-Washington and
Jefferson football game at 2 o'clock.
Approximately 50 boys will make
the trip, and they will be in charge of
Russell H. Brown, director; and G. C.
Stemple, mayor, who will attend the
banquet Friday night as a representative
of Oakland and be at the
Chamber of Commerce building on
Saturday morning when the boys arrive.
