THE MADISONIAN.

TO OUR FRIENDS.

We are making arrangements (the particulars will be announced at the opening of the Session) which will, we think, secure the Madisonian a more universal circulation. Our incessant labors for the last twelve months have impaired our health, and rendered occasional relaxation absolutely necessary. We have therefore secured the services of one of the best writers of the day, who, as assistant editor, will devote his whole time to the paper.

We have secured correspondents in many of the States, whose letters will keep our readers constantly advised of the political movements throughout the Union.

We will give daily a condensed report of the proceedings of both Houses of Congress; and the most important speeches will be published at length in our columns.

The official transactions of the Government will be published in the Madisonian exclusively.

The views and purposes of the Executive, in reference to the course and policy of the Administration, will, as heretofore, be made known through the columns of this paper.

The Principles of the Madisonian are known to be those of the Republican Party of '98. They will be adhered to through sunshine and storm.

We ask our friends, who are the advocates of Truth and Justice, to exert themselves in behalf of the Madisonian, between this and the assembling of Congress, so that the organ of the Administration may not only be efficient in repelling attacks, but in carrying, when necessary, the war into Africa.

We trust that our friends generally will be able to send us additional new subscribers by the Members.

The papers with which we exchange, will please copy the above one month, and we will hold ourselves ready at all times to reciprocate the favor.
