By a Letter from Naumbourg, dated April 2, we learn that on the 27th of last Month, about Ten in the Evening, Capt. Otto, with his Hussars, march'd from Freyburg to Lanchstedt; at the latter of which Places he took Post, and pushed Patroles as far as Halle, to alarm the Enemy. Major Sydow who commanded there, immediately ordered out 120 Dragoons or Hussars, with 100 Foot, to carry off these Patroles, but they retiring with Expedition to Lanchstedt, as had been ordered, and the Prussians following them close, as soon as the latter were got into the open Field, Capt. Otto with his Corps fell upon them. This unexpected Attack throwing them into Disorder, they were pursued to Halle, and 44 of the Foot, with 17 Dragoons and Hussars, a Lieutenant Colonel, and Major Sydow himself, who commanded them were taken.

As the pursuers entered the open field, Otto's corps attacked, throwing them into disorder, pursued them to Halle, and captured the mentioned forces.
