The Polish Lords, who were attach'd to King Stanislaus, have obtained from the Powers interested in the Peace, all the necessary Sureties, as well for the restoring their Estates, as the preserving their Dignities and Prerogatives.
The Discourse of Paris is much engaged on Occasion, with a Remark that has been made, as if the unhappy Issue of that Prince's Journey to Poland, was plainly predicted by an Incident, which was indeed not a little singular. His Majesty left Meudon the 15th of August 1733, which being St. Lewis's Day, his Piety called on him to be present at the Mass before he set out, and it so happened, that the Gospel for the Day contained Part of the 19th Chapter of St. Luke, in which, in the Parable of the Ten Talents, are the following Words: A certain Nobleman went into a far Country, to receive for himself a Kingdom; but his Citizens hated him, and sent a Messenger after him Saying, We will not have this Man to reign over us.
