:- Dunbar Junior High School :-
The Dunbar junior high chapter of the National Junior Honor society inducted five new members in a very impressive and enjoyable assembly program on Tuesday. The new members are Mary Alice Fitzpatrick, Delores Warren, Everlena Johnson, Estella Thompson, and Brenda Zeigler, all of whom are ninth grade pupils.
The Dunbar junior high school band under the direction of L. L. Adams, band instructor, played several selections.
The program which was presented by the organization included the following: History of the National junior honor society, Djuana P Burns: Aims and purposes of the honor society, Gwendell Johnson; saxophone solo, Mary Alice Fitzpatrick; Advantages of the National junior honor society, Ruth Joyner; Objectives of the honor society, Marian Lanum, Delores Warren, Mary Alice Fitzpatrick, Everlena Johnson, Brenda Zeigler, Estella Thompson; piano solo, Gloria Jean Harper; introduction of members, Dorothy Frazier; saxophone solo, L. L. Adams; presentation of pins and certificates, Principal Edwin L. Hawkins.
Old members of the society are: Herbert Denton, president: Dorothy Frazier, secretary; Carmelita Caruth, dean of pledges; Djuana P. Burns, Gloria Harper, Carolyn Hubbard, Gwendell Johnson, Ruth Joyner, Marian Lanum, Faye Perry, Beverly Roberts.
