TRUE-AD LAWS.

Kentucky has just passed a pure-ad law. It provides fine or imprisonment or both for the dishonest advertiser.

Several states passed similar laws last year, and a few others had them before that. West Virginia, Idaho, Oklahoma, Montana, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and New York are among the recent acquisitions to the pure fraternity.

So far the laws have not been enforced to any noticeable extent, though a man was really indicted in New York the other day, and there is a society of advertisers which proposes to keep the district attorney busy in that state.
