IN SENATE
The Senate was in session but few minutes and then adjourned until Monday.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole, and resumed the consideration of the tariff bill.
Messrs. CHAPPEL, SEVERANCE, MURPHY, ROCKWELL, and DARRAH successively addressed the Committee, and the House adjourned.
Saturday, May 4, 1844.
The Senate was not in session to-day.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House resolved itself into the Committee of the Whole, Mr. Hopkins in the Chair, and resumed the consideration of the bill for the modification of the Tariff. Messrs. KENNEDY of Indiana, DICKEY, and HUDSON, successively addressed the Committee—when, on motion by Mr. DUNCAN, the Committee rose, and the House adjourned.
