Liberal Subscriptions For The Pope.—The citizens of Dublin, Ireland, have at one effort contributed $70,000 as an offering to the Pope. It is estimated that Ireland will altogether send his Holiness more than $100,000 as a defence fund. The English Catholics, and a good many English Protestants, too, have begun a subscription for the same purpose, which has already reached more than $100,000. The Duke of Norfolk has subscribed $20,000 and Mr. Beresford Hope (a Protestant) has added $5,000 as his "mite."
