Last Saturday arriv'd in James River, the Sloop Charming Anne, Capt. Taylor (belonging to Col. Benjamin Harrison) from Jamaica: By whom we hear that Admiral Vernon was arriv'd in those Parts, with 6 or 7 Men of War. That His Majesty's Ships have taken several Spanish Vessels, and carry'd them into that Island. That 6 or 7 Privateers were fitted out from thence; but none of them were yet return'd: And that so many Sailors had left their Ships, and were gone a Privateering, from that Island, that there was not Men enough left to navigate the Vessels that were there; by which Means several Ships had been detain'd there some Time after they were loaden, and ready to sail.
