Full Text
In the case of Turner, charged with the murder of Logwood, an application was made for a change of venue, on account of the prejudices which exist in the minds of the people of this county. It was decided by the court, that an application of that kind founded upon the belief of the prisoner that he cannot have a fair trial in the county where the offence was committed, is insufficient, without setting forth the specific causes and supporting them by proof.
The trial was however postponed for want of testimony.
