JUDGE WEST AS A KNOW-NOTHING EDITOR.

They shouted before they got out of the woods.

The Republican papers are accusing R.M. Bishop, Democratic candidate for Governor, with having been a Know-Nothing. This may be true—we neither know nor care; but it is very certain that Wm. H. West, the Republican candidate for Governor, was a leading Know-Nothing, and one of the editors and publishers of a Know-Nothing paper at Bellefontaine, about 1853-4. The writer of this was there and knows, and Tom Hubbard, of the Bellefontaine Examiner, can undoubtedly give some interesting facts concerning the matter.
