HURT WHILE
HUNTING
MIAMI, Fla.—
Rev. J.W. Drake, pastor of St.
John Baptist church, was indulging
in his favorite sport, quail
hunting last Wednesday when his
right foot got caught in a hole and
threw him and he fell on a rock.
The support of his gun was the
only thing that saved him from
falling on his face. X-ray revealed
that his left knee cap was
cracked in two places. He has one
of the best bone specialists attending
him, Dr. Esquij. He claims
that his leg will have to remain in
a cast for at least 6 or 8 weeks.
After the accident Rev. Drake had
to walk 1 mile to the car.
Rev. Drake has been quail hunting
since a boy. It is the one and
only sport that he loves and does
not miss season participating in
it.
To many members and friends
of St. John Baptist church have
been giving him every possible attention
hoping him a
quick recovery.
