By United Press Leased Wire

WASHINGTON, June 21. Secretary of Interior Work of Pueblo today was named chairman of the new Republican national committee. Work will direct the Hoover campaign. He succeeds William M. Butler, of Massachusetts.

J. R. Sutt, president of the Cleveland Union Trust Company, third largest financial institution in the country, was named national treasurer.

James Franklin Burke, general counsel of the Republican committee announced the new party officers today.

Ralph E. Williams, Oregon; Mrs. A. T. Hert, Kentucky; and Daniel L. Pomeroy, New Jersey were named as vice chairmen in the order named. Representative Franklin Fort, New Jersey, is to be secretary.

Mr. Work is a physician nearly 68 years old, a native of Pennsylvania and one of the first administration leaders to come out for Hoover. He succeeded Will Hays as postmaster general in 1922, and Albert B. Fall is secretary of the interior in 1923.

He practiced medicine in Greeley and Pueblo, Colo., and has been president of the Colorado State Medical Society and of the American Medical Association.

The selections are those of Herbert Hoover, secretary of commerce and Republican nominee, reached in conferences with more than 100 party leaders in the week since he was nominated at Kansas City.

They were ratified and made public today at the meeting of 24 special delegates named at Kansas City for the purpose.

Hoover arrived at the meeting held at the Willard hotel here, at 12:15 p. m. and a motion to elect officers was made immediately after he appeared.

James W. Good, of Iowa, Hoover's pre-convention manager, probably will be made western Republican campaign manager, George E. Akerson, Hoover's private secretary, announced. Good, detained in Chicago by his wife's illness, will be here late this week to confer with Hoover and Work.
