Robbery of Morus Multicaulis trees—About a fortnight ago, Heniken of Columbia, New Jersey, had his cellar entered by means of a false key, and robbed of 2700 morus multicaulis trees. A few days after the robbery he sent on a handbill to the police office at Baltimore, announcing the fact, with a description of the size and trim of the trees, and offering a reward of four hundred dollars for their recovery, and one hundred dollars for the apprehension of the pilferer. The advertisement, however, was received a little too late, as upon pursuing their enquiries, the police officers ascertained, that there had been a man in Baltimore within a few days with just such a lot of mulberry trees as those in the handbill, which he was offering for sale at reduced prices, but not meeting with purchasers, had taken them down to Norfolk in the steam boat, to try the market. This person called himself Dr. Rogers.

By the steam boat last Thursday, Mr. Gray, one of our police officers, received from his correspondent of the Baltimore police, a letter detailing the foregoing facts, and giving a particular description both of Rogers and the trees; and during the day they were both identified. The trees were found in the warehouse of the Agent of the steamboats, and Rogers was soon traced and apprehended. The trees correspond exactly with the description given of them by Dr. Heniken in his advertisement.
