Youngstown, December 2—Recently Jesse Hamilton, of this city, through the death of a relative, fell heir to over $10,000. Before he could secure the money Mrs. Laura Hamilton began suit against him, alleging she was his wife, demanding alimony and secured an injunction restraining the administrators from paying Hamilton anything until the case is decided. The defendant denies that the plaintiff is his wife, claiming that she secured a divorce from him in 1884 and is barred from asking alimony now. The docket shows that at the May term, 1884, Mrs. Laura Hamilton obtained a divorce from Jesse Hamilton, but through a mistake of the clerk's it was not entered on the journal. The courts will be called upon to decide whether the couple are married or not.
