Fire broke out in the soap house of Mr. A. Kennedy, in 2d street, between Market and Chestnut streets. It raged with vehemency and was not brought under without utmost exertions, aided by zeal of the French from on board vessels using ship engines in dangerous places. Particulars not ascertained.
