Yesterday morning at about 4 o'clock, a Fire broke out in this city, in the soap house of Mr. A. Kennedy, in 2d street, between Market and Chestnut streets, by which two buildings of Mr. Kennedy, with his expensive works and improvements, were consumed, together with two frames of Mr. Flickwir, and part of the Printing-Office of Mr. Dobson, in which many valuable printing materials were destroyed. Particulars have not been ascertained, but it is said, the loss of Kennedy and Dobson exceeds 2000l. Mr. Wm. Cooper, and a little daughter of Mr. W. Richardson, were unfortunately killed by the parting of the wall. The fire raged with such vehemency, that it was not brought under without the utmost exertions, which were rendered more efficacious by the zeal of the French from on board the vessels, who plied their ship engines in the most dangerous places.
