MISSILE SITE TEST SOIL BORINGS MADE

Pearse Walsh, president of the Chamber of Commerce, is in receipt of a letter from the Asst. Secretary of Defense in Washington, D.C., Department of Installations and Logistics, concerning missile sites.

The letter states that the Air Force has already selected locations for all the missile complexes included in the fiscal year of 1963. However, test soil borings have been completed in a number of other areas for consideration in future siting plans and part of this program is in Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.

The correspondence sent from here on the possibility of a site in the Sawtooth Range is up for consideration.
