BACK TO THE REFORMATORY.

Philip McManus Taken to Elmira Yesterday.

An officer from the Elmira reformatory arrived in this city yesterday with requisition papers for Philip McManus, the young man who escaped from that institution some few months ago. The papers were presented to Judge Kelly, who committed McManus into the charge of the officer. Both left on the 1:55 train for the west.

McManus, it will be remembered, was arrested in a Penn avenue saloon about two weeks ago with George Davis by Detective Moir, Officer Bloch and Constable Will Thomas. The men were selling cheap jewelry, which, it was suspected, they had stolen. Davis was discharged, but McManus was held, and about a week ago it was learned that he was wanted by the Elmira reformatory authorities.
