Full Text
Governor de Castro and members of the legislature have informally agreed to sell the municipal property now being used as a clinic at Calabash Boom, St. John, and to use the proceeds of the sale to assist in constructing a more adequate clinic at Coral Bay. Members of the Council inspected the clinic a few weeks ago and recommended that instead of spending additional funds to repair the building, that the entire property, which includes about five acres of land, be sold. In a conference with Dr. Roy Anduze, Health Commissioner, and Dr. Saunders of the Children's Bureau, the legislators were told that Federal matching funds will be available for the project. The building was originally built as a reform school for boys and was used as such for several months. Legislation authorizing the sale is expected to be acted upon shortly.
