By Associated Press.

Fort Worth, Texas, July 10.—Federal District Attorney Zweifel today received a check for $23,289 in a letter with the request that it be returned to a certain group of stockholders in the Wichita-Smackover Oil company. The letter was signed by J. K. Yett, under indictment in connection with reported illegal oil operations, and Dr. G. B. Miller, at one time interested in the company. The sum is said to have been received in stock subscriptions in reply to letters bearing the names of Miller and Yett said the latter did not authorize the letters to prospective stockholders, therefore he desired the money to be returned.
