PEACE TREATY HANDS COMMITTEE
SENT BACK FOR REVISION AND RETURNS TO SENATE FLOOR NEXT WEEK.
RATIFICATION LONG WAYS OFF.

Washington, Feb. 10.—The peace treaty today is back in the hands of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where it probably will remain until his return to the Senate early next week. When the treaty returns to the Senate with its reservations, Republican leaders are prepared to propose modifications to the reservation similar to those considered by the bi-partisan conference and rejected on account of not being able to agree. This will open a flood gate of discussion it is reasonable to suppose, although the matter of ratification is still a long ways in the future in the opinion of leaders on both sides.
