By some of the People of the Polly Privateer of New-York, Capt. Morgan, who are come up to Town, we learn, that on Friday last being on the Coast and not having had an Observation for several Days they met with an outward bound Bermuda Sloop, at which they fired several Shot and brought her to; and demanding how the Hook bore, were answered N. W. 30 Leagues distance; on which they stood on all Night, and in the Morning saw Land which they took for the Woodland, and soon after struck and bulged on a Shoal half way up our Bay, called the Brown. They cut away her Mast and Bolt-sprit, and threw overboard her Guns, &c. so that she did not sink; and went ashore at Muskmelon Creek. They have saved all their Money which they had shared at Providence, 10 Dollars per Man.
