Full Text

Milan, Dec. 12.

Field Marshal Prince Lichtenstein having considered, that in the present Situation of Things, he could not remain any longer joined with the Army of the King of Sardinia, without running the Hazard of being entirely cut off from the Milanese, and perhaps from the Mantuan, separated from the Piedmontese Army; after having acquainted his Sardinian Majesty with the Reasons which induced him to take that Step, it is said the King told him, he should be entirely satisfied, if the Measure taken by his Highness answered his Expectation, which however is very much doubted here.

The Spaniards have every where excellent Intelligence, and have already raised 10,000 Men in the Parmesan, which is a Thing almost incredible, if we did not know that Money would do any Thing.

Their advanced Guards appeared in this Neighbourhood two Days ago. Yesterday our Magistrates went to carry the Keys to the Infant Don Philip. At ten this Morning they took Possession of our two principal Gates, and To morrow Noon his Royal Highness is expected from Pavia, in order to take Possession of this Capital.
