Full Text

If war with Spain is unavoidable (says a correspondent) let us comprehend France in our declaration. Let no chicanery on the side of the latter, put off the blow till she is able to ward it away. The house of Bourbon is united; and when any branch of it pretends to be your friend, while the others are at war, that branch means to deceive. We know where France is vulnerable: Fortune herself cannot prevent her sugar-islands from falling into our hands. Turn the wealth of her West Indies into our own commerce, and she loses the means of continuing the war.
