William E. Quinn, Maine agent of The Associated Press, with office in Portland, was a caller at the Journal office, last evening.
Manager O'Brien of the New England Telephone Co., is looking after the interests of the Waterville district during the absence of Mr. Wing, who was recently married.
Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Emery of George town, who were called to this city by the illness of their daughter, Miss Frances Emery, returned to Georgetown, Saturday forenoon. Miss Emery continues to improve in condition daily.
Hon. W. P. Whitehouse left on the forenoon train, Saturday, for Portland, taking with him two little grandsons, who have been making him a visit. They were the children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Whitehouse of Portland.
Levi Gay of Portland, assistant superintendent of construction for the New England Telephone Co., was in the city, Saturday, on business in connection with the new poles which the company has been putting up around the city.
Dr. G. R. Campbell has located permanently in this city, his office being at No. 23 Water street, where he will be associated with Dr. O. G. S. Davies. Dr. Campbell is a native of Waterville and graduated from Colby in 1891. He perfected himself in his profession at the Maine Medical School and at the University of Pennsylvania, and has been in active practice for five years.
